An anonymous YouTube user found a hidden playlist detailing the secret next stage of the CrossFit season

With the CrossFit Open now wrapped, thousands of athletes around the world are staring down the barrel of the next stage of their potential journey to the CrossFit Games: the individual quarter-finals. Usually a closely-guarded secret, the details of the quarter-final workouts stay hidden to the top 10% of athletes who have qualified from the worldwide Open. Competing against each other virtually across five workouts, the quarter-finals are also the penultimate event before the decision's made on who graduates to the CrossFit Games. They last until April 24, 2022.

This year, however, things were a little different. An anonymous YouTuber found an unlisted playlist hidden in the CrossFit Games YouTube channel, with videos detailing each of the five events in specifics, days ahead of their intended release date. The videos have since been hidden, but the workouts were still captured by media outlets including Morning Chalk Up and Barbend. Since the leak, CrossFit has officially confirmed the quarter-final details in a Tweet.

Following the leak, CrossFit competition director Adrian Bozman released a statement addressing the videos. "Regrettably, due to an error in our publishing protocol, the Individual Quarter-final workout walk-through videos were published to the CrossFit Games YouTube page earlier than planned. The videos have been removed," the statement reads. "The Games team takes this issue very seriously. We are conducting a full review of our processes to ensure the security of our future competitions."
