DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A well-known Delray Beach spine surgeon was jailed and is now facing two charges after allegedly punching his girlfriend repeatedly, then smashing her Porsche with dumbbells.

Gerard D’Ariano, MD, was arrested late Tuesday night by Delray Beach Police and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail just after 12 a.m. Wednesday. He was apparently livid that his girlfriend received a text message from another man.

The following is the narrative of Dr. D’Ariano’s arrest as filed by the Delray Beach Police Department: “The victim stated that she be been (dating) Gerard D’Ariano. She advised that she came over to D’Ariano’s house at 505 NW 1st Avenue and an argument ensued. She said D’Ariano was upset over a text message that she saw on her phone. D’Ariano grew angry, smashed her iPhone 13 to the ground, and a physical altercation ensued. She said D’Ariano punched her approximately four times and she sustained bruises on shoulders as a result of D’Ariano hitting her with his fist. D’Ariano then grabbed a dumbbell and smashed both side-view mirrors of her 2017 Porsche that was parked in the driveway. She stated that she then drove home and called 9-1-1.”

“I (the police officer) responded to 505 NW 1st Avenue and contacted D’Ariano and he admitted to pushing (the woman) several times onto the bed. D’Ariano also admitted to smashing (her) cellphone and her side-view mirrors. D’Ariona said he was upset because he saw a text on (her) cellphone and she refused to call the male subject who texted her in front of him.”

Dr. D’Ariano, who lists JFK Medical Center as his business address, is charged with battery and criminal mischief. He was released on his own recognizance pending an upcoming court date.
